With Melissa and Noemi

Good morning! Today I'll stay with my beautiful girls. I'm very lucky, because I have one beautiful wife, called Brikela, and two very nice daughters, called Noemi and Melissa. Our plans are go to the "Fiera di Primavera" (Spring's Festival), a free market in front of the sea. Every years at the beginning of Spring this festival attracts lot of people from all the region, because there are always amazing things to see and to do. It's not a big market, but you can find spring's clothes, fornitures for garden, and a grand quantity of food from all Italy (this is my pleasure). Maybe in the evening I'm publishing the photos of the day!

Another week is gone, and nothing happened. I'm trying to write my resume in English, and it isn't simple for a lot of reasons:

1. I worked for 13 years

2. 12 years I worked for the same company: it means that I have a lot of experience, but always in the same field.

3. I never write a resume. In my life I always worked, but job came to me....

4. I haven't an example resume (the www.pmi.org site is under maintenance, and the canadian government's sites are not so usefull...)

5. I have to choose my path.... PMP Certification or Experience-based work? Then the time. Not so much, in a week of hard work....

I'm busy!!!

Two weeks without write is a long time. I'm not heal, I'm not change my objective, but I'm simply busy.... I passed two hard weeks: I closed one international bid for the italian ministry of labour (leading Fujitsu emploies) and I traveled for four days in the south of Italy for close almost 200.000 € of contracts (yes, it was a good week). After that, I'm continuing reading and listening to english (I found a new english podcast), and I finally finished 'Instant english' book. All things booring....

Difference between Italy and Canada in Winter time

Italy is in alert. Wind and snow came from Siberia and now it's cold. In every city of Italy it's snowing now: but not more than 10 cm of snow. I also saw it il Canada (and more than 10), and canadian people didn't change their way of life. In Italy it is different:

- a lot of cities in the north lose electrical supply for days;

- a man dies in a car under the snow

- train transport is in tilt (is, because it continues...)

- people stayed at home for fear of snow (italians don't know how drive in the snow...)

- office, industries, public service closed.

- some hospitals closed down normal services and they're working only for emergencies.

My Car - part 2

After 197.800 Km, the power (and glory) of my car is going down. My Renault Clio MAX Edition, 1.400 CC, 98 Horse Power, made in March 2000, has seen many things....

I had Clio in my first date with Brikela, my wife, got her to the hospital when she was pregnant, and I drove my Clio when I came back with my daughter Noemi .... (after that, I used my wife's Car, so my second daughter Melissa isn't too connect to Clio) Well, you know, in Italy we have a law that imposes a periodical control (every 2 year after the 4th) to check the status of a Car (engine, brake, wheels, stability, etc.): then, before march 2012, I have to "kill" my car, 'cause it never passes the check... After that, always in Italy, another law forces the payement of an annual tax (called "Bollo Auto"): 220 €... almost 300 CAN for nothing... I don't speak about the gas price: today is over 1,78 € (2,34 CAN). The insurance is over 600 € (792 CAD) per year... in Italy to have a little car cost a lot!!! If I consider that I have a lot of business travel (average 3 day per week) AND in the week end I use my wife's car, then I drive only 2 days per week. I live close to the train station, and after 20 minutes I can reach my office.

I really don't need a Car. This is the calculatios:

gas: 60Km per week, almost 12 Km per Liter, then 60*52(weeks)/12 * 1,78(gas) = 462 €

Insurance: 600 €

Bollo: 220 €

Maintenance: 200€ per year

total: 1.282 €

If I buy a Car (average price for as similar as my car but younger 3000 €) and its loan, the annual cost is more then 2.500 €!!!

With this money, I can:

- buy over 200 bus/train ticket (280 €)

- buy the "car sharing services" (120 € 2€ per car hour using)

- take 50 taxi (1.000 €)

- save up to 1.000 €

- gain time to read/study english/PMP (in the train, in the bus, etc.)

Without a car I'll surely be more rich, but also a more sad

My Car

Tomorrow I'll write the destiny of my old car... After 12 years of honorable service It is going to retirement... But now is too late to describe the reasons of this choice.... Then goodnight!

Snow Man

This is the real reason to transfers my family to Canada. Snow Man! :-) Yes! In Genoa, the city where I actually live, the snow doesn't fall (it is a rare event!) and I can't play with it! I'm joking, obviously.... but this photo contains one of the better reason for my decision. Soon I'll publish the smaller one.
